Why are we so passionate about The Lucky Fin Project nonprofit? Well in May of 2022 one of our players announced that he was going to have a daughter due in December of 2022, along with his news came one of his worst fears. He and his wife found out that their daughter was going to be born without her left hand & forearm. In the wake of his devastation the team rallied around them. With this news waning on all of our minds the team decided to step in and help in any way we could. He told us about this organization that he and his wife found “The Lucky Fin Project.” This organization has helped him, his wife, and their daughter (Lyanna) through a few of their tougher times.

Every June the team holds a Stretch's Open golf outing. This past year we decided to make it a charity outing, and donate all the proceeds to The Lucky Fin Project. The Lucky Fin Project is a Detroit based non-profit organization that creates a support network for parents across the world. They also host events, and financially support children to obtain prosthetics. In our first year, and defiantly not our last, we were able to raise $4,500 to donate The Luck Fin Project in Lyanna’s name.
